Main Fund
The Educational Opportunity Foundation supports charitable organisations working to improve access to education or the quality of education for children and young people under the age of 25, both in the UK and internationally.
We award approximately £900,000 in new grants every year.
UK Projects
For UK based projects, Educational Opportunity Foundation will only consider applications that are specifically targeted towards care experienced young people. Projects must be interventions designed to improve their educational outcomes and life chances.

For internationally based projects, Educational Opportunity Foundation supports projects which seek to improve the quality, sustainability, and access to education for young people within marginalised and vulnerable communities.

How to apply
Applications are now open for 2025 grants.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with the Grants Committee meeting on a regular basis throughout the year.
Please ensure that you have read the criteria and eligibility for our UK and International projects and that your project is eligible.
We recognise the time and resources required complete funding applications, and are committed to responding to all applications with a decision.
- We aim to provide a decision to all Stage 1 applicants within 4 to 8 weeks of submission of whether they have been invited to proceed to Stage 2.
- We aim to provide a decision to all Stage 2 applicants within 4 to 8 weeks of the Stage 2 submission deadline on whether their grant application has been successful.
