Information for Grant Partners

Changes to your project

We understand that projects are dynamic and that sometimes you may need to redirect your resources and staff if circumstances change. If you anticipate a significant change or delay to your planned activities, outcomes or budget please contact us at the earliest opportunity so that we can discuss this. This includes an over or under spend of more than 10% on any budget lines. Any significant changes to the agreed grant use will need to be approved by Educational Opportunity Foundation. Failure to do so may result in freezing or terminating the remainder of your grant.

Reporting

All Grant Partners are required to submit either six monthly or annual interim progress reports depending on the value of the grant and whether you have successfully completed grants with us before, and a more detailed final report. The reporting schedule will be confirmed in the Grant Offer Letter. All reports must be submitted on our online report form and details of this will be emailed to all Grant Partners a month before the report is due.

A financial report will need to be submitted with every interim and final report, and an updated project logframe will need to be submitted with each end of year interim report and final report.

Upon satisfactory receipt of each interim report, the next tranche of funding will be released.

Safeguarding

Educational Opportunity Foundation is committed to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding. Everybody has the right to be safe no matter who they are or what their circumstances. Through safeguarding, Educational Opportunity Foundation will promote the wellbeing and welfare of all those whom it comes into contact with, which includes beneficiaries, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders.

Further funding

New projects:

Existing Grant Partners may apply for funding for a new project once your final report has been submitted and approved.

Development Funding for existing projects:

Development funding is only available for existing high impact projects which have the potential to either:

  • Significantly scale their approach at district or national level
  • Develop and disseminate their approach as a model for other organisations or institutions to replicate.

When a project has six months left to run, if Grant Partners feel their project has achieved evidence of high impact and is capable of significant scaling at district or national level, or could be disseminated as a model for other organisations to replicate, they may apply to be considered for further Development Funding.

Those that wish to apply may email a brief outline of their proposal (2 – 3 paragraphs) detailing the rationale and process to the Grants Manager who will advise them. If their project fits the criteria, they will be invited to complete a Stage 2 Development application that will undergo the standard review process.

If a Development Grant application is approved at Grants Committee, payments will not be released until the final report for the first grant is received and approved.

Collaboration and shared learning

We believe that our Grant Partners are an asset, with a wealth of experience and expertise, so aim to provide opportunities for shared learning and support you to build capacity and knowledge. We do this in a variety of ways:

  • Grants Workshop – An annual in-person event for our Grant Partners and Members which is an excellent opportunity to network, present and share experiences, and discuss challenges with like-minded organisations. Usually held in London in early summer; Grant Partners will receive an invitation by email.
  • Online Forum – A private space to share learning and ask questions or for advice from each other.
  • CEO Network – A WhatsApp network for CEOs from organisations which hold a grant with us.
  • Membership – Join us! Membership offers the benefits above plus you can receive our newsletters and stand to be a Trustee.

Find out more about all these opportunities in our Shared learning section.
